My first foray in the world of 'divs' is with this very-image-heavy layout! :D Well... atleast it works in the 3 main browsers. This will also be the last layout I make for Pitas. I'm looking into another blog service, perhaps wordpress or something else. I need a better comment and archive system and also some additional widgets. But I'll first need to figure out how to properly change the themes and templates for the other systems and then automate my posts to Livejournal.
Designing a layout for Pitas is just dumping a single code word called entries somewhere in the html I've written. So that's a lot easier compared to wading through php. And I also want an original layout, I don't want to just change a header. I want more than that! But for now I'm atleast happy I got rid of most of the tables, while also properly linking to all the social networks I'm a part of :)
I got a letter last friday, saying that I basically have to finish my study by September next year. Because my studyloan will end. I knew the letter would be coming. Obviously, because I knew I was behind on the study department but I didn't want to think about it! But there it is. A simple letter.
Atleast I'm pleased to say that there is an end in sight. I can see it, slowly clawing it's way over the horizon. It's not here yet though! Next week there's a big college project coming up. I'll be divided into groups with people I probably won't know (even though they follow the same study ;) Though I have to say that my study is notorious in the procrastinator department. The last big project I did a couple of months ago involved people who all had a delay of atleast a year. We joked around saying that the people who finished their studies in time must have had no life at all (no offense to the people who do ;) Well okay, a little bit of offense!) After (and during) the 'mammoth' project, I'll have to do 3 other assignments, concerning a comic/manga (looking forward to this), a remake of my portfolio and a girl gamer website. Yes, this is a study where (in the last year) they ask you what you want to work on, letting you make up your own assignments. Sounds good right? Wrong! Not good for indecisive people, because I keep changing my mind. Not good for people who set their own challenges a little tiny bit too high. Not at all good for procrastinators! But I can say that during the lenghty time of my studies (and non-studies), I discovered a lot about myself. No better way to discover your limits by setting challenges right? After the assignments, I have 6 months left that I have to invest in a company, my last internship. Think about me when your company need an illustrator or designer next year okay? I have witnesses that can attest I work well with deadlines! Really! Really! Don't give me that face!
My dad (who is currently snoring on the couch) is visiting this week and he's been cooking some really nice Surinam food. Fattening me up some more until college starts officially Monday.
Meanwhile, my study has relocated itself to a new building. Apart from a glance from the outside, I haven't seen the building yet, so I have no idea where to be once I find out where the entrance is. I'd really love it if all buildings had this one HUGE blinking sign saying Entrance. Entering a building from the wrong side, or not being able to enter it at all (causing me to circle like a vulture on a bicycle) is one thing I seem to excel at at least ;)
It has been a very hot and humid week, with the weather practically itching for a thunderstorm. Cue last friday. I love a good thunderstorm! That is, when I'm safe and sound inside and not on an open field or on a little ship at sea ;) The wind turned the blue sky into a roiling cloud field, It looked amazing and then it started to rain, a lot.
But not before I could take pictures! ![]() This is my favourite, it looks like some kind of wormhole is opening! Here's another one. Only resized them, no editing. The lousy Iphone camera is good for something at least I suppose ;) Just as I'm writing this, the wind turns and there's a rumbling sound. Oh dear ;)
Time for an archive and a refresh of my lay-out. It's quik and dirty work, since I only changed the images. I somehow felt the need for a more cleaner look. Pictures are of my attempts at crochet, not very good at it, but I managed to make my own phone pouch, so yay me!
Don't think it will hold up as long as my old layout, and I still need to add some more info about me. I'm also working on the relaunch of my portfolio (there is that unfortunate need to be more proffesional about it) so I got a pile of stuff to do! Oh and for the twittering people, feel free to follow me, I don't spam (most of the time) ;)
